  • Nattie has been dismissed for Gross Misconduct

On 11th February 2009 NatWest Bank sacked me for Gross Misconduct with regards to the role I have played within the Bank Charges Campaign. I have admitted it and NatWest Bank have acted correctly in the action they have taken.
I would like to thank the Admin and team members of all forums who protected my identity and preserved my role within the campaign since I began in June 2006. As I am still dealing with issues arising from my dismissal I am not going to post on the NatWest/RBS forums as they may be covered by my confidentiality agreement with the bank. I am not prepared to answer any questions on that topic.

I hope I have helped people and I hope that I have shown that bank workers are not all heartless. I still believe in the employees of banks who do a fantastic job and I hope that my posts have shown that. I would ask that those who know my real identity to allow me the time to sort out the upheaval that is going on as a result of losing my job.

My last comment is directed at my former employer and has been a signature of mine from when I came into the bank charges campaign.
In the words of World War one poet, Wilfred Owen; “I am the enemy you killed, my friend.”

    We have spoken.

Thanks for all the help you have given to folks in the past and your support of the charges campaign.

I hope you find something else soon which you enjoy as much as your bank work mate. I know something will pan out for you.

    Regards and thanks

I am sorry Nattie that you lost your job, but in the circumstances there really was no other way for them to deal with it, like you say.
It's only through insiders like you talking about what goes on that we are able to see just how these companies are milking us, (the public) to the limit.
You have indeed helped many Nattie, not just with info you may or may not have told us about lol. But with explanations on the timescales and workings of the banks, I think that in itself is a credit to you.
Anyway Good Luck for the future and I really hope you get something soon.

Re: Nattie has been dismissed for Gross Misconduct

This is very sad news for the bank charges campaign as a whole.

I first got to know Nattie in July 2006 through CAG and we have been good friends ever since. Hasn't always been the easiest of relationships but we have always come through. He has been a part of the Beagles team and site since its inception and we are very grateful for all his help, humour and snow driftingly annoyingness. He has stood by me through some really tough times and put his trust in me where others were doubting, for which I will always be grateful.

He has been a fantastic help to people on this site and the numerous others he is a member of and is part of the furniture and will be very missed for his insights into the workings of RBS.

But he'll still be about to annoy us in many other ways so that's okay xxx

I hope RBS's decision to dismiss Nattie will not affect the numerous other bank workers across the forums as their help, views and input, however small, are invaluable.

              Love ya babe xxxxx

Hi Nattie, I am really sorry to hear that you have lost your fob. I really hope you find alternative employment soon and that they appreicate your talents and abilities more than your previous employers have. It's a real shame that your kindness and generousity to others has been at such a high personal cost to you. I really wish you well for the future and hope it's as special as you are.

I really feel for you, not least because - maybe unreasonably - I feel partly responsible. You've made a great sacrifice for all of us but I'm sure you realise it was only a matter of when and not if.

You were the one who invited me here in the first place - when I didn't really know it existed - and for that alone I am truly grateful to you.

I believe you have always acted with the utmost integrity towards your employer often when they did not deserve it!

When it transpires that they have (lets be generous here) unwittingly overcharged for what they would have us believe are "service charges" will they do the responsible thing and get the chief exec to resign (re James Crosby) as they have not heeded your efforts to do the right thing for their valued (?) Customers.

YOU ARE A CREDIT TO YOUR INDUSTRY AND YOU SHOULD BE PROMOTED TO LOOK AFTER THEIR MYTHICAL “PROACTIVE REFUND CENTRE” AT LEAST THE CUSTOMERS WOULD TRUST* YOU.

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH FOR A NEW JOB. I WOULD BE DELIGHTED TO HAVE SOMEBODY OF YOUR GENUINE INTEGRETY TO MANAGE MY BANKING REQUIREMENTS.

LET US KNOW WHICH BANK YOU END UP WITH WE'RE COMMING WITH YOU!

*any one else remember when the banking industry was based on TRUST ?
Here's a useful link for you bankers who may not fully comprehend
                      http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/trust
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"

                            Hi Nattie

I can only echo what everyone else has already said. But at least your morals and principles are intact, which is more than can be said for the banks and their hierarachy.

Re: Nattie has been dismissed for Gross Misconduct

Sorry to hear this news Nattie. Not the best of times to find yourself out of work with all the other bank staff that have found themselves made redundant in the last few months. The are a dearth of banking jobs available out there at the moment, maybe the time to consider a complete career change ?

Am I the only one who finds it annoying that the little people get pushed out of these establishments with next to nothing, whilst the REAL culprits who failed (i.e. the top people) walk away with huge payoffs, pensions, shares and bonuses ?

You know I went down the path of being unemployed for most of last year, so know how it feels. But I would advise you that if you would like a career change, then do it sooner rather than later as it gets tougher to do so financially the longer you leave it.

You were a great source of help and information to me when I was doing battle with RBS last year to keep my house and I won't forget that. So much so, that I am now almost at the point of finally winning that fight and getting the repossesion order finally lifted.

I know I am not around this site much lately (these damn jobs get in the way sometimes), but I do check in from time to time and try to help where I can and that will remain the case. Besides, having been in your situation last year, I can advise you quite a bit on what you can do next. Got the badge in dealing with the DWP and stuff

Best get back to work now.

                              All the best
