I vote, even though we've had Dennis Skinner since 1970 and I can't imagine it changing. I actually like him and think he does a good job, actually he's rather brilliant, but I can't vote for him as he belongs to the wrong party..... I'd prefer it if they'd change the system so every vote actually counts.

Mind you he did go down from 77% of the vote to just 50% in 2010 ... and he must be due to retire, one day ?

Whereas in Northern Ireland you get... The DUP, the UUP, SDLP Labour (I think), Alliance Party and Sinn Fein (means only the Catholics in Gaelic or Irish depends how you read it).... I prefer politics of the Republic they nail lots of posters to every tree going and everyone seems to stand for the title TD :tongue2:

Re: General Election 2015

Well, now at 44 years old, I have never felt any one party that has encouraged me to vote.......so I haven't.

However, for the first time in 26 years I will be voting.

Labour- Milliband, couldn't run a piss up in a brewery and his sidekick Ed Balls used to be my local MP (he was also Gordon Brown's right hand man) I come from a predominantly Labour voting area/upbringing but I have absolutely no confidence in them being able to keep Britain stable economically. I don't think Labour will ever get to power whilst they have Ed Milliband as leader.

Liberal Democrats - Nick Clegg, I agree with many of their policies but I really don't think they are capable of running the country alone. Clegg has shown to be weak over the last term in coalition.

UKIP - I'm not insane and the country would be royally screwed if they were allowed to run it, they aren't even a consideration in my eyes

Greens - I agree with Nuclear power stations and do not believe they have the ability to run the country

Scottish/Welsh/Irish - None apply to me

So that leaves Conservatives - despite my upbringing/environment (mining area etc, although saying that my parents have in the main always voted Conservative) I think the Conservatives, led by Cameron/Osbourne has the credibility to run the country, keep the economy stable etc etc

I know many won't agree with me, but for the first time of voting, Conservatives will be getting my vote.

Tools 90% agree with you there

am Labour usually but i can not bring myself to vote for them 2. I think his brother was a credible politician, hes a muppet.

Lib democrooks ( local council versions ), Have no grounding principlas ( they sold out )

UKIP Shame about his party, because i think farage could be quite a credible politician.

Greens , Lol, waste of a vote,

Conserveyorselfs.. MMMmmmm i think i would rather give an independant a try.
crazy council ( as in local council,NELC ) as a member of the public, i don't get mad, i get even

Shame... They haven't run the country well... They claim Labour created some kind of economic fiasco... It was the haphazard deregulated banks... George Osbourne was arguing unsuccessfully for more Bank deregulation to within 6 months of the crash, few realised.
As for what they have done... The economic growth is off a low industrial base... 100% of nothing, is in fact nothing. Unemployment as discussed elsewhere hardly reflects the true state of the working economy. I can't say whether Millipede can run the country better, I have no love for his general attitude, however, there is no true credit to be taken from the state of this country by the present incumbents, and worse is to come... They are double booking their 'savings', welfare can only be cut so far. I couldn't put my X next to any party under who's governance soup kitchens and zero hours contracts flourish.

Then there is the favoring of certain core voters.... Pensioners get a special rate on savings.. The Time's I believe called this 'Intergenerational Theft' as the working age taxpayers subsidise this high interest 'borrowing' by the government. I could go on sic ad nauseum, burrowed away in the red book are many more examples of this distortion
