She's just returned to say she would defend. To be honest she thought it had all gone away as she heard nothing from June to November!

Aye, everyone is in the same place, around mid November the dear Mr Howard must have decided he wasn't getting enough people paying, so started issuing court claims for anyone and everyone who ever had the misfortune of going on his website.

There's people who tried to get a passport in Feb 2014, who heard nothing till end of November ( usually that stupid 'we're having a committee meeting to decide your fate' letter ) - the from around 15th Nov to end of Dec he issued 101 claims, probably another 250 odd since the end of December.

Does she still have the text and the acknowledgement of cancellation?

Also can she remember if she got as far through the online process of entering her date of travel, which would have rendered the appointment date useless?

The disclaimers were not prominent enough for the ASA for his other (almost identical) website prior to September http://asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudicati...x#.VQHQzixyY5t

Unfortunately texts don't stay on her phone for that long and she didn't think to screenshot it as she heard nothing for months. Thinking back, it was weird that the official passport office texted back that very evening, maybe it was Ricky up to his tricks.? She's looked at the form and there is nowhere to enter her date of travel! Negligent not to have ascertained this!

Absolutely. However Richard Howard appealed the adjudication and the ASA are re-investigating and are due publish the outcome some time in April.

Despite RH claiming on his website that the appeal has finished and found in his favour it hasn't and ASA issued a statement to that effect, saying that the adjudication stands until and unless they find otherwise.
