RECEIVED Have you found your thread yet?

Was just reading through your previous emails and noticed this at the bottom in their email signature...

''All agents of UK Services & Support Ltd who address customer enquiries & complaints via email have received the FTA Fair Trading Award issued by the government via Trading Standards.''

I think we might have to check that with Trading Standards.

Didactosaurus when did you use their website? Just wondering if you were before or after me, I used it on 5th Jan.

I think it was wayy before then - last July maybe.

Another court claim we have in the last week is from first visit to BPS website late December, and another mid November. So I don't think it goes in any specific order.

We're putting together a letter to send back to BPS to hopefully pre-empt them sending a court claim. In the meantime if you get a 'pre-action' letter (or email) please post it up as it should be responded to properly under the Civil Procedure Rules.

Hello guys, I'm new to this site so sorry if my posts are a bit ropey!

Ive been hassled by British Passport Services for months now, I ticked the terms and conditions but never payed as I realised it was a scam. They have sent me numerous letters threatening court and I recieved a letter from the MCOL service recently! I have defended the claim, and will not be paying any money unless ordered by the court.

I have just recieved and filled in the directions questionnaire, saying that I would not like the mediation service and am happy to go to county court.

I know others have recieved the £25 court letter, but has anybody actually been taken to court?

                Thanks, Dan.

                  Hi Dan, welcome to LB!

What did you enter as your defence? Have you heard anything back yet?

                    thank you!

i haven't got it to hand as I'm on my iPad, I effectively said I was mislead and could not contact anyone but still recieved letters and emails, and that when I rang the passport office i found that an appointment was made for me, but using false details. I could email the defence to anybody who would like to see it later on today?

I only just recieved the questionnaire today, so I'm assuming British Passport Services will have recieved it too.

waiting to see what they do next!

That would be great thanks, just make sure you have as strong as case as possible. admin@legalbeagles.info .

i found that an appointment was made for me, but using false details.
could you tell us a bit more about that ?

Also can you check back through your emails and see if you received a copy of the contract in PDF/Word/pasted into an email format ( as opposed to the link to the signedcontract page ) ?

Also could you do a little timeline for me (vague dates is fine) of when you booked, tried to cancel - method - when they started bugging you - did you have the telephone appointment and so on ?

Have they added much in the way of charges to the invoice ?

                      You've already sent the N180 off ?

I rang HMPO and an appointment was made for me by "**** (my surname)" apparently living at my address. Of course this person does not exist and does not live at my address. I'm sure HMPO could send me conformation of this if I requested.

I recieved a link link to an online copy of my "contract" but no contract specifically emailed to me.

I ticked the the boxes of terms and conditions in September and they hassled me after that. Recieved a letter threatening with court on the 14th Jan to which I replied by emailed but it bounced back. Court documents turned up Saturday to which I filed a defence. I should have came here before filing it, but spoke to CAB after and showed my defences and said to battle it in court and gave me a few points to use in court (unfair contract term, no acceptance of contract as no payment was made, and excessive charges)

They have added around £50 late fees.

i wrote that wrong earlier, I have recieved the n180 and intend to tick the court option, but have not filled it out or sent it yet.

If you can get HMPO to write saying the appt. was made by "Erica *******" who lives at your address it might work in your favour :tinysmile_twink_t2:
                            Surely that can't be legal??

HMPO said that in their eyes no appointment was booked as you cannot use a false name. So my grounds are that I was mislead into believeing I would recieve a passport, but they actually charge you for an appointment and services, and technically I didn't even recieve the passport appointment.
