Hi everyone, I hope this hasn't been asked elsewhere.
I had a bad fall last year on council grounds that were uneven. I ended up with a broken leg, that was dislocated, had to be put back into place then I had to have surgery to pin it in place. Ended up with 9 screws. Had complications and 4 screws are wedging out my leg in chronic ppain etc and requiring further surgery on it.
It was actually the paramedic who told me to put a claim in I wouldn't have even thought to do so. So I did, and the council insurers sent me a claim pack in August. Since then I haven't had much correspondence from them.
I received a letter yesterday from dwp CRU (compensation revovery unit) stating they hadn't given me a lump sum or any benefit payments. I phoned them to enquire and was told it was the council insurer who had initiated this.
I phoned the council insurer and was no further forward. All they said was the report from the council is now in.
Does the cru letter mean they have made a decision or they've admitted liability or is it purely standard procedure?
