My daughter got 5 charges for going straight on where a sign said:
All traffic turn left
- first left pictured as car park (blue box with P)
- second left pictured as a lorry said ‘service vehicles’. This was the route she should have taken if she did not want parking but cars are not pictured’.
The location was Queens Road Wimbledon. The floor signage says all traffic turn left. The first time she drove there it was dark and wet and was 00:20. Footage shows her stopping to look, then indicating right and slowly moving on.
Her logic was that she didn’t need to park and she isn’t driving a service vehicle. After the first notice she didn’t take the route again and was mortified.
She only passed her test recently and is a student on very low income. The council have advised her to “borrow the money” from somewhere as that’s the only thing that will stop the bailiffs.
She has appealed them all but has been told that signage meets the requirements and the appeal was refused.
Probably not much we can do as we don’t meet any of the criteria that the adjudicator would consider.
