UNMARKED VAN (SPEEDING) is it legal for them to zap you .????

HI , there all.
Is it legal for them to have speeding camaras in a plain unmarked van, or do they have to display the markers and tags and bright marking to make it clear to you that you are being observed, and photographed. UNMARKED to me could be construed as ENTRAPMENT , or am i wrong ??

Have you actually received a NIP because you were caught by such a set up, or have you seen what you thought was a mobile speed camera in a van?
If the latter you may well have seen a camera checking vehicles for vehicle licence evasion

There are no requirements to identify a speed camera either otherwise how would it be legal for an unmarked car to pull you over ?

Actually the visibility rules are rules and a partnership should be removed from the netting off scheme (where they can fund the scheme from the fines) if they break the rules.
(however non-compliant cameras do not offer any legal defence to a speeding prosecution)

It surprises me how many people cry foul we they have broken the law

I am a van driver (white van) I do speed 34 in 30 zones sometimes.:car:

But if I get a ticket that’s my own fault.

You know that you are breaking the law
you got caught deal with it.

What if the law says that in order to convict x has to happen and it hasn't happened ? Do you feel the law should only apply when it suits your moral compass ?

M1 Who is that aimed at?
Bit obvious an offence has to occur and the culprit caught before a trial where they may be convicted if its a FPN for speeding the alleged offender can contest it in court .

Interesting reading had noticed the two events the drivers were unaware they were speeding due to bad signage.
but did the OP know that he was speeding
Was the OP doing 60 in 20 zone near a playground
