Hi,
Ive posted on this forum before and have recieved great advice and I'm afraid I have to post again.
We've JUST dealt with an Equita issue regarding Council Tax and today we are facing new one. Today my mother recieved TWO letters from Equita dated on the same day demanding money for a "council tax debt" from 2007. The property we lived in from January 2007 - December 2007 was an emergency temporary accomodation. My mother was in reciept of benefits at the time as she was out of work and the benefits were sorting out the rent and council tax. I was only 15 at the time we lived at that property and still at school. Today my mother has recieved TWO letters from Equita, one stating that she owes the said council £585 and the other letter saying that we owe the same council £1029.86.
All we want to know is my mother liable to pay these debts as she was not working at the time and was recieving JSA payments at the time
If anyone could help we would be incredibly grateful.
