    Return of Personal Possesions

    In 2013 I asked a family member to store some personal belongings, the relationship has since broken down and now I'd like them returned to me.

    I have tried asking for them back and proposed I collect them accompanied by a Police Officer to prevent breach of the peace, I did this in writing (4 months ago) and have received no confirmation that I can.

    Can I go to court to order their return to me?

    I know it'll cost, but some of them are mementos of military service and other priceless to me sentimental items.

    If possible I'm looking for some direction of what statute I can apply for an injunction under?

    You will need to apply to the CC for an order on form N244 (https://formfinder.hmctsformfinder.j...k/n244-eng.pdf)

    On basis Torts (interference with goods) Act 1977
    conversion of goods Sec 1(a)
    Remedy: sec 3 (1) & (2)(a)

      Are these the medals you were left in the Will on your other thread? Did you contact your mother again?

        I think you may be confusing me with another member, the Military mementos haven't been left to me in a will they are my own from service. I have my medals, it's not just military things there are share certificates, birth certificate and a whole other host of paperwork. There is a family heirloom left to me by my paternal grandmother, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's been sold as it's jewellery.
