    Re: Settlement agreement after unfair and out of the blue dismissal!

    If you don't get legal advice (hence them paying £250) your agreement might not be valid or more likely they'll refuse to pay until you have.
    I know if I were advising them that's what I would do

      Re: Settlement agreement after unfair and out of the blue dismissal!

      This is the proposed reference attached to the settlement;

      We are pleased to provide you with a reference for Richard Roberts.
      We can confirm that Richard Roberts was employed by this Company from 26th
      March 2012 until 31st October 2014.

      During this time we found no reason to question his character, ability, honesty or
      reliability. His attendance and punctuality record was good. We would have no
      hesitation in recommending him for any future suitable employment.

      It is our policy to provide references containing information as to employees’ roles
      and dates of employment. This should not be seen as implying any comment about
      the candidate or his suitability for employment within your organisation.

      This reference is given in good faith, but neither the writer nor COMPANY NAME REMOVED Ltd
      accepts any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage caused as a reliance
      being placed on it.

      Would that be ok?

        This para removed as not required. If it were to remain it could be classed as prejudicial to you

        Check above AND your current employer can only be sued if they have misled/lied to the new employer Therefore there is no need for the disclaimer. It simply fuels suspicion
