    Hello!

    I am being offered a full time civil service job (just a data analyst) and I have discussed informally that I can take time off in the morning and complete my work in the evening or compress my hours and work less days.

    At the same time, I am looking to undertake another permanent full time job. I plan to work long hours and complete my tasks and even work weekends.

    Would there be any issue with that? Do I need to let anyone know? If there is an issue, would be resolved if I ask the employers to employ me as daily contractor with a day rate salary?

    you should not let people know that you do more than a job because that will make your boss angry and you will not be trusted anymore. You should complete your first job sooner and do the second one after that (but do not let any know)

      Yes there is potentially an issue with that for two reasons:

      1. Either employer, if they are sensible, will have a clause in their contracts about taking on another job and having to let your employer know if wish to do so. Not discussing with your employer and getting their agreement, could if they found, out lead to disciplinary action.
      2. You also have to take into account the 48 hour working time directive.
