Yes, of course. Make notes as you go through the documentation.

So, I am still going through documentation as some things I don’t understand and just needing to clarify. But in the meantime I emailed them to ask for more time to seek further support and they just stated “thanks for your email, which is understood. We await confirmation of your position”. Today I have received the Claimants directions questionnaire. Looks like they want to be heard remotely via MS teams for mediation. Now I have some big changes upcoming, I won’t have any job from 11th December, I’m not even going to be in the country. I don’t have any savings that I can offer them to settle. Where should I go from here?

        a) I emailed them to ask for more time to seek further support and they just stated “thanks for your email, which is understood. We await confirmation of your position”.

        Good.

        b) Today I have received the Claimants directions questionnaire. Looks like they want to be heard remotely via MS teams for mediation.

The Court will send you a copy to be filled in. You send a copy to the Court and a copy to Overdales.

You want Mediation providing they have sent you all the requested documentation.

You can pretty much do everything via email, Teams, phone etc. It really is a case of 'keeping on top' of everything.

        d) I don’t have any savings that I can offer them to settle. Where should I go from here?

O.K. as there is an 'upheaval in your circumstances', I'm not saying 'this case can't be defended'.

You could fill in an income / expenditure form, if after filling it in, you are left with £1 to pay off the debt each month, so be it.
It is a non - priority debt, that's all a Court would ask you to pay. Remember the 'cost of living crisis', so you need to make allowance for that, energy, food etc.
