The name is very unique. I first Googled it and found Thai people with that name. Upon further inquiry, I discovered that indeed it belongs to a Thai person. Facebook search results revealed only one person with that name; I sent a friend request, but they never called as promised. After more digging, a friend provided me with her ex's passport copy, and another friend sent a letter addressed to her, albeit three years old. Further investigation revealed that Thai people can have USD accounts with Wise. In Thailand, receiving funds into your account without knowledge can result in imprisonment.
- Even if I were to go to the High Court in the UK and spend over £15,000, it's unlikely the court would agree, given that the person resides in a different jurisdiction.
- I now have confirmed account details (as we are the ones who sent them) and a confirmed name (Wise sent an email congratulating 'Mr. ABCDEFGH,' whom we don't know, within seconds of the funds arriving).
- The name is so unique that only one person on Facebook shares the same first and surname and lives in Thailand as a Thai national.
- Her ex sent me her passport.
- Another friend provided me with a very old address of hers.
- I sent her a message; she said she would call but never did.
- We aren't certain it's 100% her.although she is the only person pops up witht at name on facebook .complaint to make in thailnd police but on what grounds we are not 100 % sure if its right person although we now have her passport?
