I hope I'm putting this in the correct section of the site.
But here goes..
Just over 1 year ago I paid for 12 months mail forwarding service as I was expecting to set up a business. So I needed to use a address for mail, so that it looked professional. The business didn't materialise in the end and I totally forgot about the 1 year mail forwarding I paid for until the 1 year was up.
Since the 1 year was up... Without using their services at all.. Not even once. I received email after email demanding payment for a further year. When I emailed back explaining the above, they pointed me to a section of their website with terms and conditions which say something along the lines of "I must give them 1 month notice before I stop using their services". It is the first time I've seen these terms and conditions. If I knew about it, I would of canceled a long time ago. I thought I paid for 1 year service not a life time continuation like a mobile phone contract.
So, I'm receiving invoices with late payment fees attached.
And emails demanding the payment for another year or legal proceedings will be actioned.
I didn't sign any agreement with them. I do not remember accepting terms and conditions during payment, although it could of been my oversight. They do have my driving licence Id and a bill id which they requested at the beginning to prove its my address... Etc.
Can anyone advise?.
I don't need this service from a long time ago, well from the beginning really. Physically they aren't doing anything ie.. they aren't receiving any mail for me, they aren't forwarding mail on to me, they are only psychically sending me invoices to my email account.
If i did, when signing up, accept online T&C's, where do i stand if this went to court?.
