Hi, friend at work was telling me her husband parked at Crown Wharf Shopping Centre on 22/7/12, arrived at 13.42 and left 14.12 after popping into one of the shops there. Last week he got a Parking Charge Notice to Owner from ParkingEye of £80 (£50 if paid by 8/8/12), will increase further to £110 thereafter. He didn't buy a ticket as he thought it was free for shoppers at stores (it would only have been £1 for an hour) and he tends to go round with his head in the clouds lol!
I've advised her to ignore the charge and that its most unlikely anything will come of it, apart from a string of threatograms for awhile. In any case it could have been her driving not her husband as far as ParkingEye are concerned as you can't see the driver on photo. Just wondered how they know he didn't have a ticket? She just needs reassuring she won't be taken to court if she does't pay.
Many thanks
