I bought a suite from a second hand shop,which i found after delivery had 2 burn marks on the setteee cushions, when i looked at it in the shop i thought it needed cleaning up a bit, and the seller said with some leather cleaner it would clean up well
The settee and 2 chairs were above my eye level, but he brought one chair down to show me, the condition of that was ok
After it was delivered i found the burn marks, i did ring consumer protection and was asked if these were [pointed out to me,which of course they were not,or i wouldnt have bought it, also the other chair was badly marked,and is only fit for tipping
I was advised to send a letter giving the shop owner 14 days to respond,and asked for a refund
I have heard nothing back, i am fuming, i have had to put a throw over the setteee and 1 chair, would it be worth taking it further
The suite wasnt expensive, but all i could afford at the time, but i wouldnt have bought it with burns on it if i had known
I am only 5 ft tall,so couldnt see the cushions on the settee or chair, only the front ,but was assured it would clean up ok,which it hasnt,and looks dirty
Looking back i think the man just wanted rid of it
Under the cushions it is full of cigarette burns,and sweet wrappers etc stuck in the sides
