I live in Prague for a bit over 2 years now. and just today a letter from the company Česká Televize arrived according to which we have to pay a monthly fee for owning a TV receiver (přijímač).
We have a TV, but we only use it to watch Netflix through a Play Station. Now, Česká Televize demands that we pay the ammount equivalent to all the months not payed, which is quite a lot of money. We do not have any antena, we have never even tuned the TV channels and never used it in any way. It is basically a big screen for us. Basically, we do not have any relationship with this company and it does not provide any service to us, but now it is asking money from us!
As a curiosity, is it possible that this is legal? That a company that provides no service demands payment, and on top of that it does it all at once without previous warning?
Thank you for any help!
