Well he did not get me a hire car or the car I purchased.

Yesterday someone from their headquarters emailed me, they explained how cars work and that they are extremely complex and stuff breaks, furthermore, because the problem wasn't there at the selling point they wont refund me, especially when the problem took a few days to fix (according to her the car was fixed on 30th) but they did not even bother to contact me on the progress or try to get me a hire car.
They also sent me some print screens of what appear to be some sort of laws/agreements.. quote:

"Can a dealership take a car back after you signed a contract? The short answer is no. Once you've signed a contract on the dotted line of your purchase agreement, the car is yours.. A customer may take delivery of a car on Friday, drive it around for the weekend and suddenly see something that is much more appealing, but once you've signed the deal, this is binding.." end quote.
It's all nonsense, the Credit Card company is best placed to sort out the refund etc. Just keep everything they send you.

I notice you had an issue with another car recently. Did you get that one resolved?. It is crazy the amount of dodgy used cars out there right now. I think a lot of motor traders are just buying in cars, giving them a valet and polish and then selling them on. I reckon they figure that many people will keep the car even with a few faults or agree to have them fixed. I had the same and the dealer put the car straight back on sale when he got it back despite numerous faults. It must be a numbers game. "If only X number of customers will understand their rights and return the car then I can still make XXX profit on the overall operation", all the while trying to squeeze as much out of every customer and reduce the amount they pay back when things go wrong. It's atrocious. I feel sorry for people who are out of pocket in a big way and then find themselves in trouble with cash flow when supporting their family. I am over £500 down after getting most of my money back but it's out of order the way consumers are getting treated by car dealers. The shortage of used cars is making it worse - more demand so people are more desperate to buy even from a distance. When things go wrong it can seem more difficult to put right when the dealer is a long way away. I bet this causes many to give up without trying.

Hey, yes I did and I am sorry I didn't post any updates, in the end they sorted the car out and gave me a 2000 pound discount, he came to his senses the moment I sent the letter before action. I kept the car for a few more weeks and because the market is so damn crazy I managed to sell it for a decent price to another dealer, maybe I should've kept it but I was in constant fear of something breaking again.
I totally agree with what you're saying, the car market at the moment is a complete joke, prices are high and quality is low, I feel like everyone is selling "lemons", good cars rarely hit the market this days.
In my current case the dealer doesn't even want to acknowledge the problem, I got a call from their head quarters and the lady on the phone agreed with everything I said, and agreed to come with a solution asap, they "did".. I should take my losses and accept the car as it is because they don't do compensations or refunds, and the best they can do is deliver the car back to me for free as that is expensive already. I just feel like they are bullying me into taking the car back, a complete joke, oh and this is supposed to be a 4.5/5 star garage with over 300 reviews, an approved seller and specialist.

The manager tried to contact me today to find a "solution" but I missed his phone call, he left me a voice mail saying that he is willing to give me a discount but nothing to substantial as they lost a lot of money on the car already, and if I don't accept they are happy to go to court and let things get weird but he will appreciate if we can sort this man to man without making it weird.

I don't even know how to answer to that, the bank hasn't yet responded to my claim and the letter of rejection was sent on 26th of December, is he trying to intimidate me or what do you reckon?

I think so, hoping his nonsense will work. Give the bank a call, always good to chase them on these things, to make sure they have received the claim. You might think things are happening, when they aren't.

He didn't call me yet, but I assume he will call and try to bully me again into taking the car back without acknowledging anything I said.
I got an email from the bank saying that they received my documentation but given the volume of claims they receive it might take 2-4 weeks to review mine, and I shouldn't call as it might slow the progress, bit weird.

Everything is good, don't let him 'bully' you. Have they got any social media presence?

Oh yes, they been spamming me with emails to leave reviews, I would leave one but I don't want that to go against me.

Can they turn a bad review against me?

No, reviews don't have anything to do with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2 Weeks have passed since I sent my letter of rejection, I also made a claim under section 75 with my bank, I called the bank today and they asked me to send more details on their email address, as this might take between 2-4 weeks, do I send a letter before action to the dealership?

He called me earlier trying to explain how the law works and how I am wrong and I can't see reason, he is a business and he is trying to make money but he is losing a lot on this one, he was not happy about the reviews either, apparently I tried to portrait them as villains, he offered me a 300 pound discount which covers pretty much nothing, he also kept insisting on how no one covers losses and I have to deal with them as this things happen all the time, that's what his legal team advised him apparently, I told him about consequential losses section 75 and I can prove each one of them and he kind off chilled and ask me to send him an email and see what we can do. He also offered to buy the car back from me again for 18000 this time but not a penny more as he already lost hundreds and hundreds, if I don't agree he will deliver the car back to me and he is happy to go to court where this will drag on forever or I will never win, he pretty much hinted that their company is worth a lot of money and they have good legal teams.
Shall I send an email and document my loss of earnings to him?
