Just a quick summary:-
Rate jacked last October so couldn't meet payment. Contacted cccs and did income/expenses and sent financial hardship details to MBNA. Spoke to CS twice and was offered reduced payment plan/freezing of interest if I made first payment immediately ( I was offering a good amount). Paid but CS lying and no agreement made. Recieved no answer to numerous letters, harrassed continuously by phone calls, so made a complaint.
Eventually recieved response apologising, freezing interest, wiping interest back to december, giving me £50 compensation and accepting my offer but will default after 6 missed payments, stating if I could afford a fixed higher amount I would be given a formal payment plan.
Due to renting a room on the rent a room scheme from April 1st I would be able to meet the higher amount. So my family helped me out and I have been paying the higher amount requested for 3 months now, each time writing asking for a formal payment plan. I have also written mid month every month. I have now received a letter saying even though I have paid the higher amount I have no plan so will still be defaulted after 6 months as not paying full amount.
I have to ring them and go through all my financial details again to see if they will agree to a formal plan and they will not correspond further on the matter unless instructed by FSA.
My quandry now is that I am back to square one and am banging my head against the wall. The stress of this has affected my ability to take on more work and caused worse financial hardship and I am in a vicious circle. They wont communicate still. I am reluctant to ring as last time I was subject to a 2 hour interrogation.
Could somebody help me by telling me who I should be complaining to and what I need to send/tell them and what is the process please? I would be very grateful. Thank you.
