Hi
I am hoping to seek clarity about what i can do if anything about the following situation:
My brother 5 years ago had a seizure and it was discovered he had diabetics so the diagnosis was a seizure due to mis management of his unknown condition. He was advised to inform DVLA as his occupation was driving articulated lorries. His driving licence was taken from him for 5 years.
Recently, he has returned for a medical to fet his licence back after 5 years of being seizure free. However, following a brain scan he was advised he had a brain tumor and was referred to a specialist. The specialist consultant advised him that he doesnt have a brain tumor and even further advised him he did not have a seizure 5 years ago but a mini stroke, the specialiat statee he would have been able to have his licence back after 1 year.
On top of receiving the original mis diagnosis of a diabetic seizure he was also mis diagnosed with a brain tumor (although they were investigating this that is what he was told). He has also suffered extensive loss of earnings due to working in a factory due to being unable to drive.
Any information or advice regarding how to pursue a complaint and if he has a case to pursue a loss of earnings claim??
Many thanks, forever grateful
Lisa
