  • Can my student son claim any benefits?

    Hi All...!

Was wondering if anyone can help us... ray2:

My 20 year-old son has not long finished his first year at Uni and we're now struggling to make ends meet, as he has no money and I'm on basic rate ESA. I'm getting Housing and Council Tax benefits, but obviously there's still all the bills to pay and food to buy.
What was left of his student loan and bank overdraft has virtually run out, and he's been looking for work for the summer vacation but sadly hasn't found anything as yet.
We're now in the position of not knowing what to do, as my measly ESA hardly covers my needs, without having to cover his as well! :violin:

Does anyone know if there's anything that we can claim to help us, or are we both supposed to live on one person's benefit?

All suggestions gratefully received - although I draw the line on selling my body (or his!) round the back of Debenham's...:bathbaby:

Goto www.entitledto.co.uk and see if anything is available for him.

Groups not included in that benefit checker = Students

I just though I would try it for my very poor student son

Yeah.... I had a look early this morning and saw the bit about students as well...! :mmph:

So what's the poor bugger supposed to do?

Come to that... what am I supposed to do?

Anyone got any other ideas? (Apart from the aforementioned trysts behind Debenhams.)
