  • Medication not suitable

You go to a GP, they prescribe you medication. You get it dispensed.
You take it home and read the PIL (patient information leaflet).
The medication contains an ingredient you cant or dont want to take. It could be say something you are allergic to for example.
You take medication back to the chemist, the chemist says get a new prescription (Px) from the GP, its not their fault "they just dispense whats on the Px".
You ring the GP, they said they will get back to you.
The GP rings back and offers new medication, you confirm it doesnt have that ingredient, they confirm it doesnt. Ok fine..
You get the medication dispensed from the same chemist.
You are happy its finally sorted.
You sit down to read the PIL to read the dosage instructions.
But you find in the ingredients it still contains that same ingredient you cant take.

So you cant take this medication either after waiting almost 2 weeks for it.

What is the best course of action?
Go through the whole process again?
Bear in mind this will have taken up several hours of your work time to arrange/sort out.
