  • Lead time for payment?

    Hi,

Made a successful claim (Lloyds) and have a substantial payout pending. Got all the letters confirming amount and that it would be paid within 28 days - they're really pushing it now.

Only a week left and still no cheque. Called and all they tell me is that the claim had been processed and they're to send a cheque out. I know I have not hit the end of their deadline but even so, does it really take three weeks to send a cheque?

    Any advice?

    Re: Lead time for payment?

    Hi

very often it can because these firms all have processes and the payments may need to be signed off by person A , but maybe if it is above a certain amount co signed by person B and then sent for payments. Sometimes they only do payment or cheque runs on certain days of the month .

Then once all that has been done it needs posting- we all know just how long say a bank statement can take to go through the system before we receive it.

It is quite possible it will arrive tomorrow or Monday
