PPi fees demand for payment

Hi there. I wonder if someone could give some advice. I have received a bill for £120 today from consumer compensation bureau as I haven't responded to letters asking me to confirm a ppi related lender.

I dont remember even signing up to this but I have a vague memory of accessing their website so I guess I must have. If they would have made the terms clear though- that I was signing up to some kind of contract I would not have done it.

Theyre saying I have 7 days to pay or any subsequent letter will be charged at £20.

Do I have to pay? I've worked hard to rebuild my credit and I don't want a CCJ.

Could you check your emails and see if you have anything from them at all please?

Any chance you can scan / photo the invoice you have received on to here ? ( remove any personal info ) or email admin@legalbeagles.info .

The Conduct of Authorised Persons rules (clause 11, page 6) state that you must sign a contract https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...les_Oct14a.pdf

Unless you actually received a contract on paper and signed and returned it, they can't charge you anything.

Before we work on a response can you fill us in on any communication you had with them prior to receiving the letter?

The first paragraph of their terms of service states that:

By signing and returning the Letter of Authority you, the client, agree to be bound by our Terms of Service...

Did you get, sign and return a letter of authority?

There's no need to apologise. No don't call them, you need to keep everything in writing.

I was wondering whether to respond with a formal complaint but I think it would be best to ask for some proof first.

So something like...

Dear Sirs

Your ref ...

I refer to your Account Cancellation Payment Request of 27 June.

I do not recall receiving, agreeing to, signing or returning your terms of service. Therefore I would be grateful if you would forward any such signed copy of your terms of service and/or letter of authority.
