Well I am going to have to admit defeat and give up.
The FOS have amazed me by their lack of 'bite' in dealing with my case.
I was told that I had to take out a policy linked to my 10 year re-mortgage I was desperate to get to consolidate debts when me and my husband split up.
The repayments were £390 a month for 10 years which scared the life out of me. But it was that or go under, and lose the house that I had sweated for. In addition I had to pay £37 a month for critical illness or life cover for the bank to approve the loan.
At that stage a combination of naivity and the deadline from my creditors looming, meant i had no choice but to sign.
Firstly the FSO let themselves be sidetracked by the Halifax saying my insurance policy wasn't a PPI.
Then when I asked them to support me in the mis-selling of the insurance policy linked to my 10 year mortgage, whether it was a PPI or not,, they said ok.
After a few months they said 'we cannot find any evidence that you were mis-sold the policy.
That was the conclusion that the Halifax had come to earlier.
I hadn't expected there to be evidence, I expected them to believe me when I say I was told it was compulsory and on the basis of being a desperate 'every pound counts'single parent in good health, would i have volunteered to pay £37 a month for 10 years if I knew it was voluntary ?
But it was like talking to a brick wall and I am giving up !!
I would like to say it is a relief to see the back of it after 18 months of dealings but it is still making my blood boil in the background.
Thanks to anyone who helped me on this site.
Regards
