  • RBS claim I have an IVA

I have 4 claims against RBS , 3 for loans and 1 for a credit card. I applied for all of these on the 1st March.

They replied to the credit card claim on the 16 the April saying I had won, I returned the offer acceptance letter and received the cheque within 10 days . Yay well done RBS :T

They replied to the 3 loans on the 1 st April (well before the credit card offer) saying they had upheld my complaint on all 3 loans :j

I returned the acceptance letters and even received a text saying your money will be with you within 28 days.

So I waited, waited and then received a text saying send us your acceptance letter??????

Phoned RBS to be told that it will be raised with their care team.

7 days later nothing has happened, phoned again to be told they lost my acceptance letter and new ones are on there way. So returned them 12 days ago.

Today phoned again to find out what is happening to be told that I am not getting the money as I am in an IVA.

I am not in an IVA , never have been in an IVA, got equity in my house and never missed paying a bill.

Told them that they already paid out on the credit card and that it is obviously a mistake their end but they are not interested

Lloyds have already paid out on 2 PPI claims and RBS have already paid me out on 1 of their own claims.

Is FOS my only option here or is there anybody I can speak to in RBS who can actually make some decisions?

Re: RBS claim I have an IVA

    Hi and welcome

So sorry to learn of your issues and the failure of how the business have dealt with your case.

Have you also tried complaining to the (Chief Executive Officer) CEO of the business by email?

If not then do that by givng them 7 days, say they have failed you on your complaint and your still waiting for your money, also the fact they messed up by saying about an IVA that you do not have, so if they do not pay this refund by 7 days, you will be considering further action and if it comes to this you will also be requesting for further redress such compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused to you by their business.

Do you have the CEO email address?

In my own personal experience, RBS are the most uncoordinated bank that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. One department cannot coordinate with another. I spent several hours of my life being passed from one department to another and then another - and then another...... you get the picture. However if you are pig headed enough and have the patience of many saints you do eventually get to the bottom of the issue at hand and usually some compensation as an apology for their incompetence.

FOS are you last resort and they can several months to resolve issues.

Thanks for your replies. Di , I read some of your previous threads noting how you went the the CEO on numerous occasions . Well I did find it on Wednesday night (Ross McEwan) and sent him an e mail telling the situation and that I was going to take it to FOS costing his company even more money in the process if this was not resolved within a week. I received an e mail back yesterday from his executive response department who were going to investigate further and get back to me within a week , so that is good news. Hopefully this should now get moving .

A little thanks to you all , even though I have not been a poster I followed this forum and eventually chased up my own PPI stuff. Dating back to 1997 and have so far received £7000 from lloyds and RBS , with another £7000 when they finally send the cheques for the remaining 3. You guys proved it could be done with a bit of dogged determination. I owe you all a cyber pint or 6. :tinysmile_twink_t2:
