Hi looking for a bit of guidance please.
I had my head in the sand about past finances and found it too much to even think about claiming ppi. I've sorted myself out now and want to pursue ppi for some last cards.i had quite a lot on cards so I think I could be owed a reasonable amount to make it worth a chase.
I received a letter from barclaycard relating to an egg MasterCard and a goldfish/Morgan Stanley card. I didn't have the account details so I called and was surprised at how helpful they were to fill in the gaps in information about the past accounts.
So I have found out I can go through the online claim for
Egg MasterCard, card taken out in 2005 and ppi cancelled in 2011 (I think this is when it transferred to barclaycard. Ppi was on the account from the outset.
Morgan Stanley/goldfish card taken out in 2004 but ppi wasn't added to my account until 2008. I think this card has gone through several owners goldfish morgan Stanley and possibly MBNA before going to barclaycard. But I'm not sure off that.
I also had an egg Visa card that I didn't get a letter for telling me I could claim online so was advised to write. This was taken out in 2003 but ppi not added to the account until 2006.
I can't remember taking out ppi when I applied for the cards and most definitely not adding it after, I certainly didn't understand what it was or would have wanted it. I know that I would have been better off putting the amount it would be away each month to help me in any bad situations why would I want to make my payment bigger?!
I am also not sure if I was eligible for it/could have used it as I believe (but can't find my contract) I was on a 3 year fixed term contract of employment.
What sort of information am I best including as the reason for miss selling? I'm worried about putting something weak as I didn't know what it was/didn't know I had it as they can just come back and say it was my fault for being an idiot! I'm also worried that I can't remember it being added/taken out.
Thanks in advance.
