Hi hope someone can maybe assist further regarding our frustrating pending PPI complaint with the above mentioned.
My wife and I stupidly took out a joint loan with Welcome Finance in November 2003 with an additional Single Premium Payment Protection amount (both names on agreement) added without our knowledge or consideration or ever asked of our circumstances at the time, as it would have not been required.
We were also not happy that we were not told that PPI was a 5 year policy or that the PPI in total with interest would still be on the loan at term end with interest and no cover ?
The loan was for 180 months and we have 48 months left of loan period.
On that basis and other reasoning of mis-selling we submitted a complaint questionnaire to Welcome, and finally after nine weeks of investigating, we received a notification from Dial 4 A Loan requesting the same be done as it has now been referred to them ?
Firstly we have no evidence or recollection of dealing with Dial4aLoan and when requested further details of any sort they were not forthcoming ?
Secondly on reviewing Credit Agreement Details there is only a mention of Welcome Finance and no other third party ?
We do know that the Policy was with Norwich Union (advised by Welcome) and again when requested information and details there were not provided.
We promptly completed PPI questionnaire and returned to Dial4aLoan, who had also stated in their covering letter that they required all relating Dial4Aloan documents relating to the sale of policy / policies ?
Also Dial4aLoan quote the Welcome complaint reference and not their own ?
Finally today we have now received a rejection letter from Dial4aLoan stating that they were not FSA Regulated at the time of loan being taken and that we should consider to refer complaint back to Welcome Finance or the Insurance Company who provided the PPI ?????
They also add that they only consider complaints of misselling, if they are made within 6 years of the date of sale and that the case is closed.
Has anyone else had the same situation ? Sorry to sound a bit stupid but what do we do next ? Do we now pursue Norwich Union for the misselling ?
