  • Hsbc ppi claim

    Hi
i received a letter in April from hsbc about claiming ppi, everything went through fine and I was offered £1550 from them to which I accepted, I sent off my acceptance form and then they asked me to go into my branch to prove my identity, which I did with my passport & signature, since then I've heard nothing, I've phoned several times and been into the branch twice since the acceptance letter etc.... It's been over 2 months - can anyone help with this? I was also offered £2600 from lloyds which went through in 12 days... I'm wondering if I'm still getting the hsbc refund?

    thank you

    Re: Hsbc ppi claim

    Good afternoon,

I had a very similar problem, and I found that an e-mail direct to the Chief Executive finally did the trick!

Beware: If you owe any money to HSBC (loan, overdraft fees, or any other type of HSBC debt) they will take it from the amount that they will pay you. UNLESS you serve a 'Notice of the Right of First Appropriation' on them.

You serve this personally on them at your local branch (the one you use), and send another copy to the Chief Executive's Office. It worked for me!

This is just an extract from my e-mail:

"I wrote to Miss XXXXX on 28th August setting out the position, and having had no response to my letter dated 28/8/2013.

I telephoned on 24/8 and was promised a callback. NO RESPONSE TO DATE
I telephoned on 5/9 and was promised a callback. NO RESPONSE TO DATE
I telephoned on 10/9 and was promised a callback. NO RESPONSE TO DATE
I telephoned on 12/9 and was promised a callback. NO RESPONSE TO DATE
I telephoned on 17/9 and was promised a callback. NO RESPONSE TO DATE
I have also served a 'Notice of the 'Right of First Appropriation' on the xxxxxxxx Branch of HSBC (Personal Service effected) and your PPI Office (By first class Recorded Signed For Delivery.)"

{Names and places are edited for personal reasons)

    E-mail address: 'chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com'

Any problems please let me know!

    Best wishes all

    Dougal

        Hi there

        Oh blimey that is naughty!!

Right, I would email on the email below by explaining your details of how long ago this was dealt with and state you will be taking this matter on further if its not dealt with by 7 days of this email.
Ask for confirmation (on them receiving the email).

Also ask them for a detailed breakdown at the same time, it may also be worth it (if you have the facility to attach) your letter of the offer so that they can track it down and/or the loan/ref/account/complaint number.

        Email address here:
        chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com

Give them 7 days and if nothing heard at all please let me know and also state that you have given them more than ample time to deal with this matter, and say that you expect to receive details of a detailed written breakdown of the refund as well.

        Good luckx
