    Good morning...
    I am hoping somebody can offer me some advice as I am rather up to my neck in things... I could post a few more of these on RBS, OPUS, MBNA and RBS (again) all are active problems, (I could use assistance with these too so anyone who wants insight please PM me), however....
    Barclaycard. Barclaycard sent me an offer of settlement on miss sold PPI on the 1st of August. The calculation was £4888 (This included copies of statements held by me back to December 2000 which Barclaycard claimed not to have)
    So far so good. The letter stated 'Payment will be made within 4 weeks' Good...
    That was the 1st of August. Well August rolled by, into September. Several phonecalls to their 0844 number at whatever cost that is, various excuses given, eg 'Payment in final stages of Authorization', 'Payment will be made shortly', then this week... 'Oh I'm terribly sorry this has been referred out', 'who to?' 'star chamber'... 'why?' 'Don't know', 'when will I hear back?' 'Don't know', 'Is there a problem?' 'Don't know'... Ever read Kafka's 'The Trial'?, I now know how Joseph K felt.
    I can't afford to spend my life on an 0844 number, I'm fighting RBS tooth and nail (that ones cost me my shop), I had actually referred this to the Ombudsman alone with all of the above in September as by then I had a sneaking suspicion this was going to be a problem.
    Anyway, as I'm out of ideas I could really use an opinion on all this.

    If you need help with the accounts above, it would be good if you could post up the details. :typing: It's best to keep things on the forum rather than dealing with them by PM, that way more people can contribute and comment and it can also help others in similar circumstances. There are some excellent PPI specialists on board, :yo: someone should be along soon.

        Many thanks...I'm not totally sure about posting the RBS one though, its sort of unbelievable!!
        As for Barclaycard, I'm stumped. I am not arguing about the offer of settlement, I just don't know whether Barclaycard are going to string this out for months on end and then change their corporate minds leaving me with the job of trying to wait the (2 years?) that seems to be the lot of those referring this to FOS?

            No RBS have managed something pretty spectacular here....
            I used a DSAR to obtain a copy of the records they held earlier in the year. This has been ongoing since January. The other thing is they haven't replied to the last 2 letters I sent (recorded). I do get the impression they may be a little unhelpful.
            Incidentally RBS have been aware (by official complaint) of their own little bete noir, it has got as far as 1 anonymous attempt by them to persuade me to drop my complaint and the odd letter dropping through the letterbox asking me to be patient...

                  Paul Fox, is a senior case manager at Barclays, Head Office Customer Relations, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HP.

                  You never know, he may well resolve your problem rather than the oily rags.
