  • Call recieved from Beech Consumer Services in regards to Paragon Finance

Hi, Wonder if anyone could shed some light on this.............
I have had a loan from Paragon Finance in 2007 its a large loan of £52,000 secured on the house, there is some thing within the loan that once paid off and we haven't had any issues we get £9,000 back. I haven't asked for this and aren't really sure what it is when I've asked Paragon they said they knew nothing about it.
I haven't got all the agreement as when I seperaed from my previous partner her took some documents and left me to pay all the loans.
Anyway I keep receiving calls from an unknown number on Friday I answered the call it was from a lady from Beech Consumer Services telling me I'm entitled to receive around £10,000 back from this paragon loan, she knew the amount I'd taken out and how much I paid back she said Paragon had put interest on the loan without my knowledge, she then asked why I hadn't noticed I owed more than the initial loan was for. I presumed this was all the interest.
Are these just cold calls or is it worth trying to reclaim some money?
This loan was sold to us through a broker, I'm waiting for the house sale to go through and pay this off.
    Thanks

Beech Consumer Services are a Claims Mgt Company cold calling you for some business (say 25% to them of what you settle for from your Paragon Finance--avoid them

Send a SAR for £10 to get details of the agreement and all the statements --di30 has the template

    OR

ring em up and ask for the Agreement + latest statyements (it may be quicker)

where and when and why did you think that you would get £9000 back

You are the second person I've heard of who had a call like this from Beech recently. The first was told they were entitled to claim PPI attached to a loan they'd taken out with Endeavour Personal Finance. Only thing is they had already successfully claimed it back from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

You should never sign up with a company that cold calls you.

It's very questionable that Beech should legitimately hold details of your financial affairs. I would take Turboman's advice and send them a Subject Access Request asking for all the information that they hold on you.

        Hi there

I agree with Turbo and EXC - avoid using management companies, they tell everyone the same and they get hold of our details from the data base etc.......

I would certainly make a reclaim with your reasons directly to Paragon if it were these who set up and sold you the loan with PPI.

As Turbo says, first request for a SAR, we can then of course make a start on the reclaiming (Free) .

I shall dig out the template for you now x

Re: Call recieved from Beech Consumer Services in regards to Paragon Finance

We received a call from Beech Services re Black Horse loans we had. We signed up with them, then had a letter saying there was no insurance and our case was closed.

We took this to mean everything with them was closed and when we had a call from Blackhorse we carried on directly with them. Now we have received PPI money back from Blackhorse AND invoices from Beech Services.

When I told them I thought they had closed our account they said it related to just one of our loans (yes, there is a reference number on the letter, but the wording of the letter still suggested it was out case with them completely)

Guess we have been gullible and have to pay them 25% of what we got???

It would depend on the wording of your contract and the letter.

Could you post them up removing your personal details?
