Hi, found this forum through another member on MSE.
My friend declared themselves bankrupt and is now discharged, I claimed PPI back from him on his Nat West accounts, the claim was upheld and went to pay his debts ( as it should) now my question is, the claim was upheld as he was a self employed person and the policy was not suitable for him.
He also did not even realise he had it, now if he had claimed before he filled for bankruptcy, the claim would have been upheld and he could have cleared the debt completely and not declared bankruptcy.
He had to declare bankruptcy due to losing his business but these were personal loans and he spent the next year unemployed but is now employed.
Does he has any redress against Natwest/RSB, never once when he was trying to negotiate his payment plan with Nat West/RSB before he filled did anyone say to him he had PPI on accounts and to A) put in a claim B) put in a claim for miss selling, which either would have paid the debts.
Thanks
