    Hi DT

Sorry not been about so much the last few days due to hos and doc appts, and so sorry to hear of the issues your having!
    They are flipping useless!!

I would be tempted to contact your local MP to get this sorted, it's been known they can help you in these matters where some have eventually got somewhere.
I take it you still not heard anything since your postings over the last few days?

It's not on to be treated this way, they messed up somewhere along the line!

Because you have also made contact to the CEO where they do not seem to be doing anything about it at the moment, a MP will write on your behalf, (they will want your vote, so cannot see them refusing to help you). You could check if your MP has an email, let me know thanks x

There's nothing to stop you telling them that you've asked your MP to intervene. That in itself might chivvy them up.

          Your welcome.

Maybe still worth a shot and what EXC says too, send them another and say you are disappointed with the way you been treated, with that and the failure of them complying to your emails, you are considering forwarding this on to a member of Parliament, hopefully it will get them moving for you x

              Had a reply.
Something about debit intrest and that the increased balance is right.
Will try and post up when I can access scanner, need to send FOS a copy anyway.
              They wont write off remainder.
Really not in the mood for any hassle should I try for a " full and final?"
Strangley enough in the same post was some " look how well I have done" from Mr Lamb!

                            Hi DT,

Well done Di and others for sticking with DT on this - you're in good hands, DT. I'm afraid I've been a bit busy elsewhere lately - but I do try and look in to see if I'm needed for any help with the figures, and I'm sorry that you have had to wait 11-12 days for a reply here. Looking at the attachments, it appears that they credited your account with an insurance payment and some account interest on 01/08/13. The same amounts were then debited on 02/12/13 because this was an error. It may be that the PPI redress calculation was made without taking the earlier credit (on 01/08/13) into account - and it was easier to simply leave the calc as it is, and re-debit the earlier credit. But that is just my guess.

The 02/12/13 statement lists 3 credits on 28/11/13, and these appear to be:
                            £429.02 PPI premium refund
£167.05 apportioned account interest charged on the PPI premiums
£198.23 8% simple interest on the above (applied as per FSA/FCA rules)
This totals £794.30 - but the 8% simple interest is subject to a 20% reduction for Income Tax, which comes to £39.64 - and this is debited immediately.
£794.30 - £39.64 = £754.66, which is shown as a debit to the account on 29/11/13 ref: 223353 (cheque no., presumably)
Also on 28/11/13, the earler credits to the account on 01/08/13 are shown as debits to correct the error referred to in the letter.

So - to my mind, the figures add up OK - but a full explanation of the calculation of those figures is the only way to determine if my assumptions about the error are correct - and you could ask for this.

As regards a F&F settlement, then that is not my forté, DT - and I hope others here will be able to advise on this. If this were a DCA, then I suspect an offer of less than 50% might be in order - but as this is still with Barclays, then this may not be the case. I would suggest that - in the absence of better advice - you make your initial offer on the low side and be prepared to negotiate upwards. You can't negotiate downwards after your initial offer, remember. And I would also suggest that you keep this in writing, as it is not unknown for these F&F settlements to be 'forgotten' later on - and for you to be chased for the full amount later.

I can only echo your previous 'BUMP's,' and hope there is someone who can better advise on this aspect.

                            Hope I've helped, though.

Thank you Bill, will try e mailing the CEO again, but do not seem to have got very far.
At least then it will be in writing as such.
Hope you and yours have a good Christmas xx

Had another letter, they won't accept my offer of £150, instead they say the least they would accept is just over £260.
Is is worth negitiating? Could just about do this but not until February at the earliest.
