Few years ago I started the process of trying to claim back my ppi from Lombard credit card & loan but they ignored all my letters so then I went through Belmont Thornton which I successfully received 2 cheqs & thinking it was end of it ...

I now received a letter from Belmont Thornton saying they've been successful with my claim against Lombard again (haven't received a cheq yet) I got no idea what they on about ...

Do they have the right to claim the bill for it as I was not aware of it. Any idea to get Belmont off my back before I accept any more offers as I wasn't happy with their responses in the past. I wondering is there any way that I can stop Belmont acting on my behalf?

    Many thanks

    Re: Belmont Thornton

    Hi there

I take it this is a claims management company?

I'm not used to dealing with matters if issues arise via claiming companies, as its always suggested to try to have a go yourself, or charges will apply if using a company if successful.
If you did not sign any initial paperwork, if they did not help you in any-way, or keep you updated, you may have a case to complain of the lack of customer service care.

However, I'm sure someone will have the correct answers for you on this one and post up soon.

But if you closed the case/cancelled Belmont within the cooling period, and they are now stating that they have been successful and after your refund, despite them not doing anything, and the fact that you cancelled it, it may be a case that they are not entitled to anything.

How far did you go with Belmont?

You can of course always contact the main office of claims management companies called (Ministry of Justice/MOJ) Claims management on details below, and make a complaint.

There is some information on this thread. - http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...lmont-Thornton

It may be an idea to find out exactly how much effort BT has made in acting on your behalf.
