  • PPI Scotland, problem with company

Hi all, hopefully you can help me. I contacted a company PPI Scotland to look into any claims I may have, They proved to be pretty useless so I ended up dealing with it myself.
They tried to contact my bank only to be told that I had no accounts etc etc.
I ended up dealing with it myself by phoning the PPI complaints dept and raising my concerns.
5 tickets were raised with them and I received suitable offers and accepted. Now a couple of months later I received a call from the PPI company with them saying they had successfully dealt with the bank and that I had received payment they wanted their fee.
I explain to the guy that they hadn't been successful and the only reason I got any resolution was through my actions. He explained that as they had been trying to contact the bank and I had signed with them they wanted paid.

I again contacted the PPI people at RBS and they confirmed that with the 5 complaints that were raised 4 were by me and only one by the PPI company. Surely I only need to pay them fees for the one raised against them?

if someone can please advise as I don't see why they should get paid when I did the work, thanks.

See if the bank can confirm in writing that 4 of the 5 were raised by you. It might also be worth complaining to the bank that they should only have notified PPI scotland of the settlement in relation to 1 account and that they should pay you for the distress and inconvenience of the mess they created.

On the 1 raised by PPI Scotland i would pay them their fee to show good faith.
