  • PPI claim - noticed error in the" key facts"

    Hi all,

Just about to claim PPI mis-selling by Picture Loans via FSCS. Waiting for my form from Deloitte.

Looking over my documents, noticed the PPI agreement "key facts" (not referred to as such but you know what I mean) says 'You are Self Employed'.

    I wasn't self employed.

This is 100% their error, I will have had no reason whatsoever to lie and tell them I was self employed when I wasn't. Surely they also obtained proof of income at the time e.g. payslips.

I have literally never noticed this until now. Am I right in thinking responsibility for accuracy in this area was theirs? It is a bizarre error IMO, cynical me wonders if it suited them in some way to misrepresent my employment.

Anyway, my question is, does this strengthen or weaken my case, and should I draw specific attention to it in my claim or not. I have lots of other goodies - public sector worker, front loaded, leaned on to buy it, wasn't told wife not covered, not properly explained/ costed out to me etc etc.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.
