had a letter off Halifax today refusing my claim, its not a final and does say I can phone with any further evidence ect. I had a phone call on Friday off the cuff asking me questions but I was in work so it was a little difficult to answer as I did not have the information infront of me. .The grounds I claimed on were not advised on main features, exclusions and limitations of ppi......was not asked if I has other means of covering my payment...did not give consent to taking out ppi policie.

Re: Halifax refusal today
Did you have other cover in place at the time of taking it out?
How did you approach them? I know some people are simply approaching them and not giving enough information and the claim has sometimes been declined on that basis."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

Re: Halifax refusal today
I told them I had cover by other policies also, I was paid by my employers at the time so it was not needed. surely these are questions they should ask at time of sale. they also asked if I had any saving at time of sale, please bare in mind this was 2003 lol. they also refer to only one card account when infact there is 2 clearly listed on there reply form. any advice on a way forward would be appreciated cheers

Re: Halifax refusal today
there reply to each of my complaint seem standard, i.e they would of taken steps to insure it was right for me, they did provided me with correct info on product, there opinion was pratical and policy discussed. they also say the sale process requires my verbal consent that I wanted ppi, they are also persuaded I would of had a verbal explanation ensuring I was made aware. they therefore conclude I knowingly consented to ppi. how they got all this info I will never know in a 2min phone call.

Re: Halifax refusal today
Hi there
I would have told them if you had thought to put it into writing and anything you need to know you will also send back in writing, as a preferred method of contact, so you have this for proof, as they can put you on the spot by ringing you out of the blue.
You could still write back and tell them that you feel you should forward your further information as requested by letter, and you wish they take it all into account.
