  • Mppi refused by nationwide

    HI

I am new to this forum and I am looking some advice, I put in a claim to claim back MPPI from Nationwide and they have sent me a letter today declining my request, the letter states that we had taken out MPPI on our first property and later on Home Improvement Loans, we were not aware we were taking out any PPI as we both had 6 months pay from our Employers if we were off sick, we also had some savings in the bank to cover any sickness, when we took out a new mortgage for our new property we did not even sit with a Financial Advisor we spoke to the Branch over the phone sent in all the relevant paperwork and they posted out the Mortgage Application form which we signed and sent back, apparently the PPI was offered free for the first twelve months and then we paid for it for 6 years, we were not aware of any PPI and did not request this to be added to our Mortgage or any of our Home Improvement Loans, the have said in the letter that I if I have any remaining queries or concerns that they have missed or if I feel questions have not been answered to contact them but also that they confirm this is the Societys Final response, the 3 page letter they have sent back is very confusing as the dates do not add up, when first contacted by the person investigating the case he told me that the PPI was being paid from 2002 -2008 in fact on the letter we were paying PPI from 1997 on our first mortgage and the dates of Employment do not add up, I am just confused with the answers and It only took them 7 days to look into our complaint.

Write to the Chief executive office (CEO) of the business and make him or her aware that the team have failed to uphold your complaint, but do feel its been overlooked, and as you do have genuine reasons to complain and make a reclaim, you are asking if they can look into the matter again and to let you know by say 14 to 21 days maximum.
Tell them you do not agree and would like this matter reviewed to avoid taking the matter further, and anything more you think you may have not mentioned in the complaint, do let them know as well.

If you hear nothing by the timescale given, then move on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

    Keep at them, good luck.

Welcome to LB by the way!

For the attention of the Chief Executive Officer.

        Account number
        Reference complaint number

I refer to the letter dated XX/XX/2012 from your customer service/complaints team, and am disappointed to have received a rejection decision, where I do believe I have genuine reasons to make a reclaim on the Payment Protection Insurance that I believe was mid sold to me, due to my reasons of......................... .................. ...........(give as much information that applies to you).

Because of this, I now feel the customer service/complaints team may have overlooked my complaint, and I am now asking if my complaint could be reviewed, taking into account my reasons I previously enclosed? (and any further details that may apply, add to the letter as well).
As a respectable business, I do feel you will agree to have my complaint reviewed, and understand why I have raised this matter with you.

I also enclose a copy of my complaint I previously sent to your complaint department (if you still have a copy) for your records.

I will appreciate written acknowledgement approximately 7 days of this letter, in order for me to know on my next direction to take from here.

        Yours sincerely

        .................................................. ...................
that above is just simple wording, but do remember to include anything you think you may have missed, and maybe one of our other folks will have some suggestions, and be along soon as well.
