I don't know what if anything can be done about this situation, so any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.
Some years ago, 2001/2/3. I had a bit of a problem with the TSB bank. (See my other post under 'BANKS' TSB.
As soon as I was able to get away from them I had to apply to various companies for credit cards.
One of them was 'CAPITAL 1' who I believe are still operating.
As soon as I found out that they had issued me with a ''Naughty boys card'' (my words) I wrote to them to ask for an explanation and a refund for the amount that I would have been overcharged.
They never replied, I did write again and phone a few times but never did get any sort of response. They just completely ignored all my letters and calls.
Recently I have been going through all of my old files and came across one of the letters I sent them. See below.

Dear Ms Bowley
It has just come to my notice that for some considerable time there has been an adverse note as to my honesty and credibility on various credit reference files.
I have been in touch with the company concerned who have now admitted to making a huge error (please see enclosed letter) and completely removed all reference to me ever having any dealings with this company from all credit reference agencies files.
I further understand that the type of card that I hold with your company is for people who are trying to re-build their credit standing after whatever misfortune may have happened to them.
I have never had a bad credit history. I have never as much as been one day late paying anyone and have never reneged on any agreement.
I am more than happy for you to carry out whatever checks you feel you must to confirm all that I have written here.
My reason for this letter is twofold.
One. Is it at all possible to calculate how much I have paid in excess charges (interest or whatever) over and above what I should have paid had I been treated in the fashion I would have expected and been offered a standard credit card with your company.
Second. As from receipt of this letter, or as soon as you have completed any checks to confirm the above. Can you please issue me with a standard credit card. i.e., one that does not carry the heavy interest charges and penalties that are incurred on this one.
I do hope that you are able to agree to the above requests. Through no fault of yours, I have been treated extremely badly for a number of years by credit companies and I now wish to re-dress the balance as soon as possible.
If it is any easier, I am more than happy to receive email replies which is both faster and more cost effective.
Yours truly,
Gerry Rigley

So, is it too late to start corresponding with them again especially now that all this PPI business is going completely mental and quite rightly so.
I am just fed up with all the treatment I have received over the years from various organisations and really feel like getting a bit of my own back.
Comments on the back of a postage stamp please.
Thanks for reading my bit of a whine.
