  • Hi an help please

Hi a new member here, and what a good site it looks with loads of good advice being offered.

OK I have a problem that I could do with some help with.

In 2003 I took out a joint loan with my wife from Loans.Co.Uk the broker was i.loans, I /we had a PPI built into the agreement totalling £7,200 (£3,600 each).

The loan was settled some 10 months later, there was no pay back of PPI but as usual we paid an early redemption fee and other costs.

However as the loan was taken out in 2003 and settled in 2004, and as I understand it the was before the latest ruling, can I make a claim against Loans.co.uk or is it time barred?

I have dug around a bit and GE Money have sent me all the archived paperwork, but they can't /won't help and referred me to CSFA? who were no help at all.

I spoke with Loans.co.uk, to-day and they asked me to send a letter of complaint, but I have the feeling that this is a standard reply and just wasting each others time.

The PPI was a classic miss sell for us, and we were told that if we wanted the money we had to have the PPI I was self employed and the wife part time.

Any advice would be most welcome.

    Hi there and welcome

Many have made successful reclaims even from accounts taken out pre 90's etc, but of course it does help if the business were regulated, as you stated.

I would therefore see what decision they come back with and take it from there.

If we need to push further on this complaint, then we shall.

If the business were not regulated, it may be a case of going the underwriter/insurer avenue of the policy.
The Financial ombudsman Service (FOS) normally suggest this direction if your unable to get any further with a business who were not regulated.

The FOS issued reclaim questionnaire's now to use to make your complaint, you can use the form as on below link if you want to, send to loans.co.uk, make sure you keep a copy - because if they do not uphold in your favour or give you a favourable offer/gesture your not happy with by the final outcome, you can send a copy of the reclaim questionnaire to the FOS, this will save time later on.

Hope this helps and the link to the reclaim questionnaire below.

    Good luck.
