    Re: Lloyds PPI claim 2007

Got his statements back and every month he must be getting hit with unplanned O/D fees and returned DDs etc averaging 50-60 pounds a month,he never seems to be able to get himself straight, they also refused to put a hold on the fees on his account whilst we are going to dispute PPI.

      Re: Lloyds PPI claim 2007

      Hi

I would send a letter of complaint in regards of the charges/ask to hold back and freeze for the time being, and if they keep refusing then complain to the FOS.

When I was in hardship a few years ago, it was the same where they would not freeze the charges/interest etc, I kept on and on and in the end I complained to the FOS under the hardship criteria, it was resolved some time later, and the business were told to freeze and refund back to the account, and I also received further compo for the distress and inconvenience caused.

The way the FOS see it as well - if the business deal with the freezing of the charges etc at first instance, this will avoid it going into deeper debt.

So, if they do not resolve it, tell them the account is now in dispute while the complaint is within the FOS and wait to hear from them.

      Hope this helps, good luck.

Make it clear though, this a a totally separate matter to the PPI.

Which is the best address to send the letter of complaint about the charges.

              Hiya

As you know Lloyds have many addresses, you can either pop a letter into your local bank and ask them to fax it through, if you do ask them for some sort of receipt, or use the address below.....

              LLOYDS TSB BANK PLC
              25 GRESHAM STREET
              LONDON
              EC2V 7HN

I'm sure that was the one I used some time ago, so if you post by signed for recorded delivery, at least you can check the status of delivery and they will forward to the relevant dept.

How long should I give them to reply to the letter to cease charges on the Account, I sent the letter 2 weeks ago and have received no reply but the PPI letter I sent at same time replied after a week.

                  Hi

I would have thought a week or 2 of an acknowledgement letter.

Give them until the end of the week, and maybe chase up on this if nothing heard by then.

Thanks Di,I know a manager at Barclaycard and she tells me that Barclays work out the PPI compensation such that even if you defaulted on the loan they give you the whole amount of the PPI back plus Interest, does anyone know if this is true and if other banks do the same.

Well he rang to ask if they received letter, they say they did and sent a reply acknowledging, he said not received it and could they resend another letter, they also said he has to make an appointment at his branch to ask for the charges to be stopped whilst disputing this PPI.

                              Lloyds all over!

I would write to the bank, they used to ask us to make appointments to go in, but what I would do is write to the Manager of the branch, and post it by recorded delivery, so you get proof of posting and signature that they received the letter.

Keep copies of the letter sent as well.
