All,
Drawing on your collective experiences, does anyone have any useful information based on the following scenario.
I had five HFC loans running concurrently through 1996 - 2010, I originally sent a claim in for the most recent one, which they made an offer on. I then sent a claim in for the other four, which they rejected based on them having no records of the loans. I however managed to get (from their customer services team) details of loan value, PPI amount, start and end dates for each loan.
I gave them this further information but they woudl not budge. They then went to the FOS and they have offered redress on the 2nd most recent loan, but refusing to do so with the other three. They cite the fact that their records were purged in 2010, and although they had the information they purged it while the complaint was ongoing.
The adjudicator does not see to be able to do any more but would be useful if anyone has any experience of this type of situation, particulalry where they have been given all the account information.
