How long does ppi refund cheque take to come through with barclaycard?

Just wondered if anyone knows how long the cheque should take to come through from acceptance of offer?

Does anyone know - Is there a timescale whereby barclaycard are supposed to comply by sending the cheque within so many days of offer?

I enquired about the same issue with barclaycard and was told it can be anything up to 8 weeks for the cheque to arrive, from the date of the acceptance form. do you now the date it was recieved?

Legal departments tend to move more swiftly than others.

One presumes that you are totally comfortable about the settlement figure?

i was hoping they would move swiftly as the offer arrived on 31st August - this was the date they had promised to resolve the issue by...... I then sent it back special delivery the same day.
The envelope they pre-addressed also had an orange dot on - i presume this was to fast-track it to the right department. I got the impression they wanted to wrap it up and payout refunds asap.

I am happy with the amount.....would settle for anything right now...lol.

the breakdown is as follows:


A Refund of payments made by me for ppi cover £1525.61
B Refund of interest charged on PPI premiums £ 654.12
C 8% Simple interest per annum £ 963.53
D Total Refund Payable = (A+B+C) £3143.26

Currently b-card taking approx 25 days to make BACS payment, always advise my clients to opt for BACS as quicker and more secure (royal mail not the most reliable), cheques normally take about a week longer but depends how busy the payments team are.

I spoke to the Barclaycard PPI team on the phone yesterday and asked how long on average it was taking to payout once they had received the signed acceptance form and I was told it was actually going to take about 8 weeks due to the volume of acceptance forms they have received since they sent out their gesture of goodwill offers up to August 31st.
I hope they cough up quicker!

The norm used to be 21 to 28 days, but since the extra time and backlogs they are taking longer, where I understand some have been told up to 8 weeks, yet they can still receive the refund before then.

....was just wondering if they wait for all acceptance letters/given time to accept the offer to elapse before they start paying out the cheques?

I sent my acceptance letter back by special delivery on the day i received the offer so would have got to them on Thursday 1st September (I know I was very keen)

....was hoping this would mean they'd pay out very quickly!

I hope so too, but just a suggestion, although I'm not sure it will work, but if your in urgent need due to financial hardship circumstances, contact them and ask if they will be kind enough to consider paying you as soon as possible, maybe worth a shot (they may even confirm when you should be expected to receive your payout at the same time).

..........had a nice juicy cheque waiting for me when i got in from work today!
so it took 50 days from when they received my acceptance letter to when it arrived.

I sent a letter to Egg regarding them looking into a potential PPi claim i wanted looking at in early November and was notified by Barclays a few weeks later saying they had taken over Egg and giving me a new reference number for my PPI claim. I received a letter from Barclays on the 16th of December saying my claim was successful and that i would recieve my money in due course.

I rang them on the 23rd of December 2011 to try and get an indication of when i would receive it. I was told by the girl on the phone that they couldn't me specific but to allow 8 weeks. I told her in a nice way that i was a little disappointed with this timescale and asked her to "slip mine to the top ofthe pile while no one was watching" she laughed and said she couldn't do this, so i accepted that and politely ended the call.

My money was transfered into me account on the 30th December 2011 - i was shocked to say the least. Taking into account that there were bank holidays in between it took 3 working days from my chase call and a total of 8 working days from my letter of confirmation

Not bad going that - maybe it pays to ask the question in a nice way
