I was contacted by a CMC called the Claims Action Group. They want 39% of any winnings in profit costs. IMO that's exorbitant.

I've heard that 6000 complaints were received by the FOS in the last week alone. Timescale on decision varies from 2 weeks up to Easter. Please do not expect a decision today.....

can't recall. It was quoted during one of those cold calls that come out of the blue. I couldn't get them off the 'phone. But 39% of the claim value was quoted. They did send me a pack with the PPI questionnaire and FOS complaint form, partially completed, which was most helpful of them

I will look it out and get back to you on the VAT point. Intersting to see if the 39% profits were ex or inclusive of VAT.

25% of corporation tax receipts

The entire financial services industry only accounts for 17% of total UK corporation tax receipts. Two thirds of that comes from insurance companies.

Banks pay comparitively little corporation tax in the UK as most are serial tax avoiders such as Barclays who routinely pay just 8%.

They are commenting on the number of complaints at the FOS, they could hardly say that banks have done a fantastic job but we have still received thousands and thousands of new complaints on the one topic

Just spoke to the court and there's ''no sign of a listing in the near future''.

Also been trying to obtain the hearing transcripts from the mind bogglingly useless Merrill Legal Solutions but they're yet to transcribe it from the audio recording into text.
