  • PPI past 6 months

    Hi All,

    Just a quick question.

I lodged a complaint with a bank about my PPI, they came back with a final response telling me to get lost. Saying I agreed to PPI over the phone etc etc.

My issue is: In the final response they state I have 6 months to lodge my claim to the FOS or they will consider the matter closed.
It has now coming up for a year and I have done nothing.

Can I still submit my claim to the FOS? Or has it passed its sell by date and I lost out?

    Any idea's

    Thanks
    Stewie

    Re: PPI past 6 months

    Hi there Stewie

    How long ago was this?

I understand there is an extension for this, not for all, but it depends when you complained and how long ago this was completed.

However, if you missed the 6 months and have a personal reasons on why you could not take this further to the FOS, do let the FOS know, there could have been for example hospital/health reasons, or someone close in the family with these issues where you had to spend your time in caring for this person, or you could have other reasons.

Contact the FOS anyway and just make sure on this, but it is that normally of 6 months from the date of the final decision letter received from your bank.

    Good luck.
