I have just tried to reclaim my ppi payments from a store card from GE Capital Bank obtained in store in 2001. My points were non proffesional seller of PPI, pushy sales person, the fact GE Capital Bank had been fined for misselling.
Their letter said as there was no way of knowing what had taken place in store they can't say how it had been sold but if I had been unhappy about it I could have cancelled in the cooling off period. As to them being fined that only covered the year 2005 they tell me not 2001. They then gave me the address of the FLA if I was unhappy with their decision.
Is this a final letter?
Do I write to them again or the FLA?
I obviously didn't make it clear that I thought the PPI was compulsary hence pushy sales person or I would have cancelled, there was no sign of the word optional on the form and the phrase remember to add account cover I naivly thought meant I had to or wouldn't it have said "do you want to add optional account cover?"
Any comments,tips,advice gratefully received.
