Well known firm of solicitors were acting on behalf of finance company. They had applied for a CCJ. I asked for CCA which they could not provide (returning letter and £1 postal order). I have been suffering from stress, depression and anxiety for some time and am classed as Medium to High Suicide Risk. They asked for proof of this to send to their client. I did not mind too much. It seemed they were backing off anyway. However when I asked for an account number by email, it turns out their middle name did not match mine. I refused to supply documents and asked for the CCJ to be stopped. They sent me a letter said this had been done. Three days later the CCJ arrived.
It devastated me. For days I struggled to cope and made plans to end my life. I cannot stress enough how much this threw me off track. I thought it had been settled.
It was a mistake by someone in this legal firm obviously. I complained telling them harm they had caused. They set it aside. They tried to contact me by phone but I would not answer. They reported me missing to the Police. I had to convince my local officer I was me.
That was they displaying a Duty of Care. And working against their name which sounds like Bright Massel.
My question is: do I/can I sue for negligence? Is it worth it?
Thoughts/suggestions please.
Thank you.
