  • DEBATE ON CMC's IN WESTMINSTER ON THURSDAY 8th NOVEMBER 2012

Should be an interesting debate, starts at 1:30pm.

I also think that in future any complaints made to the MOJ - until LEo comes into effect, a copy of the letter of complaint should also go to your MP to ensure that your MP is fully aware of the scams what the CMC's are doing.

A jolly good debate on claims management companies and Lifestyle Money got a mention and well as Kerobo (who used to advertise a lot on TV + Radio) It goes to show that the Ministers know all about the scams and want to get things changed as much as we do.

If anyone wants to listen to the whole Exc has sent me the link - not sure how long the link will stay but suggest anyone interested should take time to listen to what was being said.

Re: DEBATE ON CMC's IN WESTMINSTER ON THURSDAY 8th NOVEMBER 2012

I have just sat and watched this all the way through, a very poor turn out at the meeting I may add but none the less the opening was very good and did explain the goings on of the CMCs.

A couple of companies were named one because although being warned about their misleading ads are still carrying on, also one who had their 50 million pound income from claims mentioned. Then a company who apart from taking a £420 upfront fee then carried on to remove another £10,000 from the credit card, this was after much effort paid back to the consumer less £735 admin fee that was non returnable.

The MOJ although it was said were under staffed came across as being pretty useless in any part of regulations they can actually use. (Would they want to knowing it where their bread and butter comes from?)

A lot was said about what should be done and in fact, but not until next year, it seems a little may be done to stop this theft and deceit so many of us have been involved with over the last couple of years.
It took six years for the banks to come to terms with the fact they had been naughty once again and for them to be made to pay back money that was taken by the mis selling of PPI.

In the meantime the cowboys were allowed to jump on the bandwagon and concoct a way to help us get our money back while fully lining their pockets. This with very little financial layout from themselves and seemingly with a license to steel.
I think by the time all the talking and the meetings (by the way all this was discussed 13 months ago) the CMCs will have got on another bandwagon and found another loophole so as they can rip us off again.

I have said and will say again prevention is better than cure, why are the powers that be letting things like this take off in the first place and indeed why does it takes so long to put the wrongs right when they happen.
Rant over till the next time.
