I am currently working abroad and about 2 weeks ago received an SMS to my UK phone number from BPO collections stating "It is important you contact BPO regarding DWP quoting reference xxxxxxxx"
I decided to go on to their website and check what it was about, but after inputting details it gave no information other than the alleged amount owed. I sent them an email asking for proof of the debt and received no response.
I then went filed a complaint via Resolver and received an email the next day stating:
"Thank you for sending us an email. Whilst your email will be dealt with, to safeguard your data and personal information our client has requested that we do not discuss this matter via email. In future please contact us using the following methods: (Phone or Post)"
I replied to this stating my situation that I do not have access to my UK address / post so will need to see proof via email, but have not received any response. I have since tried phoning them twice and gave up after being on hold for over an hour each time.
Anyone have any Ideas what to do next? I do not believe they even spoke to their client and this clearly looks unreasonable actions taken by BPO (or the debt doesn't exist)
