Hi, i really need some help as it is making me ill. I will try and remember as much as poss, but my head is scrambled with anxiety.
I was contacted by Bank Smart around 2019 i think, they were forcefully saying that i was owed PPI refund, i told them i doubt it as I knew i hadnt taken any out etc, but they were adamant that i was.
So, as i was in a lot of financial debt from my divorce etc, i thought, whats the harm? It's no win no fee right? So they sent me a contract type thing and then the forms started to arrive one by one, by the third one, i thought this is a waste of time, i knew i wasnt owed anything, despite me telling them, so i gave up on returning any more paperwork to them. A while after i got letters (on photocopied letterhead paper!) from BS saying i had breached my contract, and received a "statement" saying i owed them unpaid invoices of £747. I have never received any invoices.
Their statement stated things like "as seen on the back page" but their back page was blank. I responded to them, via email, after making up a special email address to use purely for this, and after seeing so much bad publicity about this company, with a letter of complaint, that i hadnt received any invoices, wishing to no longer have anything to do with their scam company etc, and to not write to me, that i believe i dont owe any money and i will certainly not pay any and that i was going to report them to X,Y and Z. I got an email from them acknowledging my official complaint, but nothing since then.
Then months after a phone call from a number in Truro (which i did not answer, later find out it was MIL collections) then an email from MIL to my personal usual email account (which i reported as spam), now a letter from MIL has turned up, which i have not opened. I am tempted to return it unopened but i am at my wits end with worry, my elderly father is in hospital on his death bed and i just want this black cloud to go away.
I have seen posts where people say ignore BS, ignore MIL, even posts where people have paid them in the hope they go away, just to then receive even more invoices from them! To me this seems like they have found out who is weak, vulnerable etc, so they continue to pursue them for money with more invoices I cant tell you how much this is affecting my health and happiness, I have sleepless nights and i am so worried. I think they are a disgusting outfit and PLEASE can someone help me on this, i just want it to go away and for me to live my normal life again.
